BARESENSE: Base Awareness and Renewing Energy through the Senses,  is a sensory-somatic approach to art and life in general.  Born from the collaboration between Guido Luciani and many artists throughout the years, BARESENSE is the core technique empowering all the creative and healing methods taught and practice by Guido Luciani.   Although conceived for and by performing artists, this sensory-somatic approach is not only valuable to all creative individuals but to anyone interested in harvesting the transcending and healing powers of our life energy source.
Please contact Guido Luciani for more information on the different group or private training options available now in the Los Angeles area.

Hollywood Fringe has partnered with City of West Hollywood’s Once City One Pride Festival to offer participant shows with LGBTQ themes complimentary HFF17 registration. We are excited to announce the winners of this scholarship.

One City One Pride will explore the locations of West Hollywood through the festival theme “Go West!” Whether associated with Horace Greeley’s famous quote from the 1800’s (“Go West, young man, and grow up with the country”), the Village People’s anthem of hope and unity, or the Pet Shop Boys later cover of the song, Go West conjures images of a movement toward a promised land. For many LGBTQ people, this included the idea of a West Coast utopia, a dream of gay liberation, and the freedom to live lives openly in the West Coast meccas of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and the emerging, influential young City of West Hollywood. Most recently, there has been a wave of artists and creatives moving here from New York. Over the years, people have moved West for many reasons, and for 2017 One City One Pride takes a look at what pride means to those who accepted the call to “Go West!” The festival will comprise performing arts, visual arts, arts interventions, and public art. The Hollywood Fringe Festival is proud to support the LGBTQ community and congratulates this year’s winners!

I’ve come to realize that in my work, light goes far beyond aesthetics. Light creates a relationship between subject and space, a conspiracy with me as its creator and the universe which we all share. – Guido Luciani

This intensive 1 day (5 hours) workshop is an exploration of Luciani’s Absolute Theater Technique and the Absolute Universe as exposed in the concept of TRANCING, an Absolute Theater Production.

In the first third of the workshop, the Absolute Technique and its applications in movement and voice work will be introduced. After, performers will be encouraged to explore and create either solo or group performances based on the theme of TRANCING: the trance-like state performers, athletes, etc. sometimes experience during performing. The workshop will end with the presentation of the group performances.

This workshop is aimed not only at seasoned MALE performers, dancers, acrobats, but also at just passionate MEN looking to liberate their voice through theater.

There is no fee to participate in this workshop. Workshop will be limited to 10 male artists. Either a group or individual interview/audition is required. Participants must be comfortable with nudity, sexual themes and working with an all-male group.

ARTISTS: The New Eunuchs of Society

Throughout history, artists have been known as free thinkers, revolutionaries, pioneers, liberals, rebels and dissidents against conformism and establishment.

Artists are the trailblazers of society.   They expose the world.  They enlighten us with their vision.  They enrich our lives with their dreams.  They elevate our souls with their work.  They encourage us to dream and to re-invent our lives.  These are the five “E” of art, which by conscious choice or just nature, bestow the artists a place in our lives and in our society.

Artists cannot ignore their innate role in social change and development.  They must choose how to use or misuse this power.  They must decide whether to take stand and liberate their souls, or imprison themselves behind the bars of conformism and become eunuchs of society.

It is in an artist nature to create.  A true artist does not create to satisfy anyone but himself, but there will be no art galleries, no theaters if art was purely egotistical and artists did not seek to communicate with their fellowmen.  Love is often seen as the main subject and inspiration of art.  If we believe this to be true, shouldn’t art follow the same principles of love?  When we fall in love, we often want others to like the person we love.  We want their approval.  We want others to share our happiness.  But, do we really want them to tell us who to love and how to love?  The greatest loves in history have defied the approval and the restrains of others over the human heart.  Like love, true art cannot be restricted, silenced, tamed or castrated by social, economic and moral binds or any other forms of repression.

“Art is the free expression of our souls, passion its creative force.  The function of an artist is not to capture this creative energy but to allow it to freely flow from the most intimate personal source within us and out into the world.  When an artist indulges in mental masturbation, the connection to the soul gets lost, and social, moral and personal man-made codes block this boundless passion. A man’s passion should require no explanations and offer no apologies.  Aria is the return to the world of free artistic expression and collaboration, a creative community, the bohemians of the 21st century.” – Guido Luciani

  • I pledge to free my soul and expose my passion to the world.
  • I pledge to liberate my spirit and celebrate this in others.
  • I pledge to push myself beyond my own limits and those set by society.
  • I pledge my heart and artistic vision to boundless creativity.
  • I pledge to unite forces with my fellow Resonant Artists and take a stand against the inhibition of the world’s artistic voice.
